Luis Gonzalez :: Founder
Affectionately known as "Gonzo", Luis Gonzalez broke into Major League Baseball with the Houston Astros in 1990. During the 90's he made stops in Chicago and Detroit, playing for the Cubs and Tigers respectively, before being traded to the Diamondbacks where he would become an All-Star and the club's vocal leader. When he joined the Diamondbacks in 1999, he immediately led the team into title contention. During his time in the Valley of the Sun, Gonzalez kept up a record-breaking pace on offense, hitting 57 homeruns in 2001, and was selected to five All-Star teams. His greatest moment with the team came in the 2001 World Series, when he singled-in the Series winning run against the heavily favored New York Yankees.
In addition to his playing career, the famous southpaw has served as a color commentator on ESPN Radio's broadcasts of National League Division Series games, and on FOX Sports television broadcast of the 2006 National League Championship Series.
Although he currently plays for the Florida Marlins, Gonzalez calls Arizona home and is dedicated to enhancing life in metro-Phoenix.
